Inservice Workshop

Jim will visit your site and work with your teachers for two days, including one evening meeting on the first day. This is a hands-on workshop to help teachers implement the “Success Strategies”.  Teachers will discover their own learning style, work with a complete custom-made middle school math program, and participate in role-play activities to expand their ability to create a classroom climate that improves the learning environment to enhance math achievement and improve classroom behaviors.

Many schools (and districts) have found the workshop is also a great team building experience for staff members. Along with the instructional materials, the workshop teachers participate in games and activities that expand students’ willingness to work as part of a learning team. Jim has been teaching since 1972 (that’s 54 years) and shares a wealth of useful experiences. At age 79, he still works half-time teaching “Quick Start Math” in grades 6 - 8.

Contact Jim jslosson@comcast.net to discuss your unique situation and receive a digital copy of the workshop handbook.  The workshop has consistently received high ratings from a diverse group of school organizations including tiny districts in Western Washington and large, metropolitan districts in the Midwest.

Price for workshop:  $5000, plus travel.  In addition to the workshop, each participant will receive a complete middle school math program designed specifically for success strategies. Host district is responsible for preparation of printed materials, that include one printed handbook per participant.  Small districts may combine resources to provide one workshop for multiple districts.  Workshop limit is 32, but 24 optimal.
